Who We Are

For over 30 years Joe Amacker has led the way up a tree. Often imitated, but never duplicated, no other tree stand can come close to offering you the versatility, endurance, user friendliness, comfort, safety and performance of an "Amacker".

History

In all, Joe Amacker holds 23 tree stand patents. In the mid 1970's, Joe led the way with the "Deer Thief 1", the father of today's "stand up, sit down" climbing method and the first all-metal tree stand. Today, all modern tree stands are patterned after Joe's basic "Deer Thief 1" design. Amacker has built a limited number of the world's finest aluminum steel tree stands.

The new ADJUSTER™ MAGNUM comes with a self-adjusting system allowing you to adjust each platform as you climb, all giving you many more hunting places, even on bell-shaped, oval, or odd-shaped trees.

The new SWIVEL HEAD ADJUSTER™ also comes with Joe's patented self-adjusting system, as well as a back blade that swivels around the tree and locks in place in seconds without removing any bolts or pins.

Amacker
, is proud to announce that Joe Amacker-A Living Legend-recognized throughout the industry for his professionalism, high standards, safety concerns, and outstanding quality is back. As Joe says, "If it ain't an Amacker, it ain't worth hangin!".

"Down south, in Tallulah, Louisiana lives a man who has gained the respect of sportsmen near and far for his innovative products. Joe Amacker personally designs most of the products that bear his name. He's a stickler for detail and believes in form following function. In short, he's an original!

Joe Amacker began building better tree stands in 1975. In just nine short years, he became the world's largest producer. In 1979 he began building functional accessories for ATV's. In just four short years, he became the world's largest producer. You don't accomplish those feats without a real sense of pride in the products you produce."
June Issue 1987, Western Bowhunter.

"In the mid 1970's another company in Louisiana called "Amacker" developed the first two-piece climbing stand that used the "stand up, sit down" method of climbing. This tree stand was patented as the "Deer Thief 1". It was also the first all-metal tree stand.....This tree stand is the father of the "stand up, sit down" tree stands as we know them today." 2002, The User's Guide to the Tree Stand (It's History and Safe Use) by L.J. Smith.

Missing from the picture, a legend himself, Ben Pearson. Ben had passed away before this picture was taken. Not long after this photo was taken, the great legend of archery, Fred Bear, also passed away.

"I felt honored sitting at the same table signing autographs" - Joe Amacker

I happened to be at the Pope & Young banquet in Broken Bow, Oklahoma when Fred Bear got up and spoke. During his speech, he said something that I will never forget. He said, "Don't look at me as an idol. I'm only a man that had the opportunity to be placed in a situation that gave me a chance to take a trophy that would be  entered into the Pope & Young records."

I wondered why he said that instead of bragging on his success. After talking with Fred Bear several times after the banquet, I found him not to be a bragger, rather the forerunner in the archery business and the taker of many trophy animals. I never heard him brag on his success.

When I would have the chance to talk with Fred Bear at our meetings, he would say, "Deer stand man." And I would reply, "Yes sir." Then I would reply, "Mr. Bow Man." Those days are gone but the memories are not.

New! Amacker Outdoors ArchiveA Better Point of View

The News Star Monroe, LA

I’ve been deer hunting for over thirty years and using climbing stands since the 80’s. I recently purchased my second Amacker climber the Adjuster Magnum and I believe it’s the best stand on the market. I use this stand exclusively and it has never let me down. Besides the outstanding leveling feature it is extremely well built and above all a safe stand to operate. Chris, I have to mention how impressed I was talking with you recently. Your professionalism, courtesy and knowledge of your product is amazing. I highly recommend this tree stand and Amacker to all my hunting buddies. Thanks so much.  Sonny Laurel Springs, NJ          Read More
